WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?

For most of mankind’s history people understood the healing and harmful properties of the flowers, seeds, leaves, trees, bark and other plants materials in the areas in which they lived. These organic materials were ground into pastes that could be made into poultices and plasters, or dried for use in teas and other elixirs. In many cases the “researchers” of the day realized that plant components could be combined to magnify the results generated from any one of the plants, or to achieve wholly different reactions entirely! In this way plants and trees were used to treat all manner of ailments, illnesses and conditions.

Eventually it was realized that in most cases a plant’s “active ingredients” could be distilled into oils that contained both its healing essence and aroma. This allowed easier combination, application and, most importantly, transportation to other regions where their scarcity made them extremely valuable. For this reason Egypt was regarded as the Paris of the ancient world, known throughout the world as a source of top quality essential oils for health care and perfumes. While everyone remembers that when the three magi went east from the kingdom of Persia to meet and worship the baby Jesus they brought three gifts: gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. The value of gold is certainly well known to this day, but not many stop to consider why the baby king would want Frankincense and Myrrh. Of course they were essential oils; Frankincense was thought to stimulate the immune system and be good for skin, and Myrhh was known to be useful for wound care, oral (teeth and gum) problems and respiratory problems.

Today the world’s giant pharmaceutical companies are quietly searching the remote corners of the planet for new plants and “primitive” remedies that can be reprocessed and reconstituted into expensive drugs that can only be prescribed after an expensive visit to a doctor’s office. But luckily the wisdom of the ancients was too widely disseminated to be kept out of the reach of the people. In the modern age there are many reputable firms offering a wide variety of high quality essential oils and extracts for use by those exploring alternative methods of healing, health and happiness.

For all the reasons that essential oils are useful in aromatherapy, they also make exceptional radionic reagents! A few drops of an essential oil in a test tube can be added to the input well at any radionic device for any project. Likewise, the energy patterns inherent to essential oils can also be imprinted into neutral substrates using an electronic potenizer.
